Voice-Swap has joined the AI for Music initiative, originally founded by Universal Music Group and legendary music instruments company Roland. The new initiative outlines a series of principles that guide its members, including ‘We believe music is central to humanity,’ ‘We believe humanity and music are inseparable,’ and ‘transparency is essential to responsible and trustworthy use of AI.’ The full list of principles can be read here. 

Responsible use of AI has been a core ethos of Voice-Swap since our inception, with several initiatives of our own being part of our core feature list. We introduced content moderation and watermarking at launch, ensuring that users couldn’t use a voice for hate speech or inappropriate content.

We then partnered with BMAT to ensure our models didn’t contain copyrighted content, expanding that program to other companies who wanted to join. All of our models are created in collaboration with our singers, and all of our training data is created from scratch for the project. And best of all, our singers get paid a royalty when their AI voices are used.
