Prohibited Use Policy

Applies to all Voice-Swap services

1. About this Policy

This Prohibited Use Policy (the "Policy") forms part of the Voice-Swap Terms and Conditions (the "Terms"). It applies to every person and organisation that accesses or uses Voice-Swap's websites, applications, studios, APIs, voice models, Instant Voice Clone services and related outputs (together, the "Services"). Capitalised terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Terms.

You must not use, attempt to use, or enable another person to use the Services for any purpose prohibited by this Policy. You are responsible for activity carried out through your Account, including by your employees, contractors, collaborators, clients and other authorised users.

2. Core Rule

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes, within the rights and permissions you hold, and in a way that does not deceive, exploit, endanger or materially harm another person. You must not use the Services to create, train, host, generate, publish, distribute, promote or facilitate prohibited content or conduct.

A use may be prohibited even if the content is not publicly distributed. Voice-Swap may consider the content, context, intended audience, manner of presentation, safeguards and reasonably foreseeable effects when applying this Policy.

3. Voice Rights, Consent and Authority

You must not submit a recording, create or use a voice model, or generate or use Output unless you have all rights, licences, permissions, consents, notices and lawful bases required for the full intended use.

Private individual users must comply with the confirmations and warranties applicable to them under the Terms, including the Instant Voice Clone provisions.

Every Business Customer must comply with the Business Rights Warranty in the Terms. This applies to every business, organisation, partnership, sole trader, public authority, charity or other professional or commercial undertaking, regardless of size, plan or purchasing route.

You must stop the affected use immediately if any relevant right, consent, permission or lawful basis expires, is restricted, is disputed or is withdrawn.

Voice-Swap may request evidence of authority, but any check or safeguard is not legal clearance and does not reduce your responsibility for obtaining and maintaining the required rights.

4. Prohibited Uses

4.1. Unlawful activity and infringement

Break any applicable law, regulation, court order, sanction or legally binding obligation, or facilitate another person doing so.
Infringe or misappropriate voice rights, performers' rights, copyright, trade marks, privacy, data protection, publicity or personality rights, contractual rights, duties of confidence, trade secrets or other rights.
Use audio obtained through theft, hacking, covert or unlawful recording, breach of confidence, unauthorised data scraping, or another unlawful source.

4.2. Impersonation, deception and fraud

Impersonate a person, or represent that a person said, sang, endorsed, approved or did something they did not, without lawful authority.
Create or distribute materially deceptive synthetic audio where the deception is unlawful, is intended to mislead, or is reasonably likely to cause financial, reputational, physical or psychological harm.
Commit or facilitate fraud, scams, phishing, extortion, blackmail, identity theft, social engineering, market manipulation, false advertising or false endorsements.
Circumvent, test or defeat voice authentication, identity verification, access controls, banking security, account recovery or anti-fraud systems without the system owner's express authority.

4.3. Abuse, exploitation and threats

Threaten, harass, stalk, bully, shame, intimidate, coerce or unlawfully discriminate against a person or protected group.
Encourage, instruct, praise or facilitate terrorism, violent extremism, human trafficking, exploitation, serious violence, suicide or serious self-harm.
Create content intended to expose private information, fabricate damaging allegations, interfere with a person's relationships or employment, or otherwise target them for abuse.

4.4. Sexual content and minors

Create sexual, pornographic, intimate or fetish content using an identifiable person's voice without that person's specific, informed and legally valid consent to that content and its intended distribution.
Create, solicit, distribute or facilitate child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation or grooming, or any sexualised content involving or presented as involving a person under 18.
Create an Instant Voice Clone of a person under 18. Other uses involving a minor's voice are permitted only where expressly supported by Voice-Swap and all required parental or guardian permissions and legal safeguards are in place.

4.5. Civic, political and high-impact deception

Misrepresent a candidate, elected official, public authority or election official, or create false voting information, where the use is intended or reasonably likely to mislead people about an election, referendum, public process or emergency communication.
Present synthetic audio as an authentic recording in journalism, evidence, public-interest reporting or a political communication without any disclosure required by law or necessary to avoid material deception.
Use a synthetic voice to make or communicate decisions about a person's employment, credit, housing, education, insurance, healthcare, legal rights, policing, immigration or access to essential services in an unlawful, discriminatory or materially misleading manner.
Falsely present Output as personalised medical, legal, financial or emergency advice from a real professional or authority.

4.6. Platform, model and security abuse

Remove, hide, alter or circumvent a watermark, fingerprint, provenance signal, disclosure label, access control, rate limit, moderation measure or other technical or safety safeguard.
Probe, scan, disrupt, overload or compromise the Services or connected systems, introduce malware, or access data, models, accounts or infrastructure without authorisation.
Extract, download, reverse engineer, reconstruct, copy, sell, transfer or sublicense model weights, embeddings, parameters or other protected components except where Voice-Swap has expressly permitted this in writing.
Use automated means to create accounts, evade enforcement, conceal the source of activity, exceed plan limits or provide unauthorised access to the Services.

5. Disclosure and Presentation of Synthetic Audio

You must clearly disclose that audio is synthetic or manipulated where required by law, platform rules, advertising standards, contract, or where failing to disclose would make the content materially misleading. Any disclosure must be reasonably prominent and understandable in the context in which the audio is encountered.

You must not remove or obscure a disclosure or provenance measure applied by Voice-Swap. A disclosure does not make an otherwise prohibited use permissible.

6. Legitimate Creative and Testing Uses

This Policy does not prohibit authorised fiction, parody, satire, commentary, accessibility use, internal production, academic research or security testing merely because it uses a realistic synthetic voice. All such use must be lawful, respect required rights, avoid prohibited harm or deception and include any required disclosure.

If uncertain whether a proposed use is permitted, contact Voice-Swap before proceeding. No response constitutes approval.

7. Additional Duties of Business Customers

In addition to the Business Rights Warranty, each Business Customer must maintain controls reasonably appropriate to its use of the Services. These include limiting access to authorised personnel, communicating applicable restrictions to users, keeping evidence of rights clearance, protecting credentials and API keys, and responding promptly to suspected misuse or withdrawal of rights.

A Business Customer must not direct, encourage, permit or enable an employee, contractor, agency, client or other user to act in breach of this Policy. It remains responsible for ensuring that use on its behalf stays within the rights obtained and the Terms.

8. Reporting Misuse

If you become aware of unauthorised cloning, prohibited Output, compromised credentials, withdrawn consent or another breach, you must stop the affected use, take reasonable steps to prevent further distribution, preserve relevant records and notify Voice-Swap promptly through the Help Centre or the reporting channel identified on our website.

A report should identify the relevant voice, account or content, explain the concern, provide links or supporting evidence where available, and include the reporter's contact details. Voice-Swap may request additional information to assess the report.

9. Investigation and Enforcement

Voice-Swap may use automated and manual measures to detect or investigate suspected misuse, but does not undertake to pre-screen, authenticate or legally clear every recording, model or Output.

Where Voice-Swap reasonably suspects a breach, risk of harm, infringement or unlawful activity, it may take proportionate action, including refusing a request; restricting generation, sharing or API access; requiring evidence of identity or rights; preserving relevant records; suspending or terminating an Account; disabling or deleting a voice model or Output; declining a refund where permitted by law; notifying affected rights holders; or reporting matters to platforms, regulators, law-enforcement authorities or other competent bodies.

Voice-Swap may act before completing an investigation where this is reasonably necessary to prevent harm, protect rights or comply with law. Serious or repeated breaches may result in permanent loss of access. Enforcement decisions are made under this Policy and the Terms; nothing in this Policy limits any other remedy available to Voice-Swap or an affected person.

10. Changes and Contact

Voice-Swap may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Services, risk controls, law or regulatory guidance. Material changes will be notified or published in accordance with the Terms. The version in force when you use the Services applies to that use.
