Danny Howard, Sarah Story, and Charlie Tee have championed her music on shows like Party Anthems w/ Matt & Jamie and The Drum & Bass Show.
Ruth’s AI voice is now available for producers, songwriters and fans to access, and she’ll be paid a 50/50 split for the use of her AI voice. Try out Ruth’s AI voice here.
To celebrate the launch of her AI voice on Voice-Swap, Royall collaborated with singers across the world to translate her song ‘Lullaby’ into multiple languages. Derek de Lang re-wrote the lyrics and recorded the song in Spanish, Miranda Xu and Kiki Zheng in Chinese, Ayah Marar and Emsallam in Arabic, and Kanata Okajima in Japanese. Those recordings were then put through Ruth’s AI voice model, allowing Ruth to sing in languages she doesn’t speak, and allowing ‘Lullaby’ to cross borders and reach millions more listeners, in their own words.
“When I first heard my AI voice back, it was in Spanish,” explained Royall. “Dan [Stein, aka DJ Fresh, Voice-Swap CEO] sent me a little snippet, which was amazing. It was so bizarre to hear my voice in other languages, with pronunciations that I can’t do. It was a mind-blowing experience.” Watch the full video below explaining how the project came about.
New translation services
Alongside the launch of Ruth’s AI voice model and the ‘Lullaby’ translation project, Voice-Swap is also introducing a new service, that allows any artist to have their song translated to other languages, but sung in their own voice using AI. This new technology can bridge countries, continents and cultures, and has powerful implications for the future of global music.
“We’ve had top songwriters from all over the world put their spin on Ruth’s song,” said Dan Stein aka DJ Fresh, Voice-Swap CEO. “AI can’t write hits but can help artists reach a global audience. With Voice-Swap, the voice becomes an instrument anyone can learn to play.”
Stem-Swap
Voice-Swap is also launching a new stem separation and voice transformation tool called Stem-Swap. Producers and songwriters can upload a fully mixed track, and Stem-Swap will split the stems and allow you to hot-swap vocals in place, from a drop-down list of licensed artists, including Ruth Royall, Angie Brown, Robert Owens and Liam Bailey. Creators can also mute the original vocal and record their own versions, in their own language and convert the voice back to the original singer, all within the browser. Subscribers can then download the full mixed track with the new vocals, or the individual stems.
